What if you have a scholarship already

November 9th, 2009

First of all if you have a scholarship already congratulations. What you should do next is help others find a scholarship and apply for more scholarships or additional financial aid. When you help others find scholarships you do things: Help someone else who is need of financial aid but you also expose yourself to more scholarships. Which in turn increases your own personal list of scholarship resources.

Informing others of scholarships

Me personally I write a blog which you are reading, but I also comment on other blogs. For example if I see some incorrect financial aid information, I will post a comment informing both the author and their readers/subscribers about the information. I use this as an opportunity to educate, not criticize. But at the same time not every comment has to be negative. There are of course things that I agree with and things that I disagree with. For example I posted a blog about Fafsa financial aid titled Easy financial aid for college students. The post discussed how anyone can qualify for a fafsa regardless of their income low income, high income, middle class etc. I recently came across a blog post title Fafsa and the middle class and I felt obligated to comment because I felt that the author didn’t know that anyone can receive financial aid from filling out the fafsa. It’s not neccessarily an income based source of financial aid. It is based on a formula of your estimated family contributions to your tuition.

Renewable Scholarships

There is a large number of people that really don’t know much about a scholarship except that it helps pay for school. Some people don’t know that there are partial scholarships, 3/4 scholarships and full scholarships. Partial scholarships pay for part of your tuition, 3/4 scholarships pay for 3 quarters or 75% of your scholarship while a full scholarship pays for your *full tuition. The reason there is an asterik next to full tuition is because you may have a full scholarship that is not a full scholarship. It can be a full scholarship that only pays for tuition, it can be a full scholarship that pays for tuition and room and board or it can be what a full scholarship should be paying for tuition, registration, room & board and books. Right now I get my graduate tution paid for and my books. I do have to pay a $90 per class registration fee. There is no scholarship for this unless I worked directly for the university. But I do get $500 per semester in a check form so lets just say it covers the $90 registration fee.

In closing, I just wanted to briefly touch on ways that you can help others. Commenting on topics that you have gained knowledge on is a very good way to help others because you can reach a large audience. You can even help people that you don’t even know you. Good Luck!

Helping Others find scholarships

November 6th, 2009

Using and sharing scholarship resources

If there are websites, blogs and services that are providing you with scholarships and financial aid resources, then you should do your part as well. What exactly is your part? It’s helping others find financial aid. Doing this is beneficial for for a few reasons. What may not work for you can definitely work for someone else. An example of this is Fastweb. You maybe a person who doesn’t like using fastweb, but you have a friend who has never heard of it. You can inform them of fastweb and what it is designed to do. Me on the other hand I tell people about services that I use myself including the mentioned above, scholarship experts and College Week Live. Another way it can be beneficial is someone may pass along some valuable financial aid information also.

Help others find scholarship support

I have written over 100 detailed scholarship blog post about financial aid; where to find it, how to get it etc. And I will keep writing informative blog post about financial aid. So subscribe to this RSS, add this to your favorites, digg it, stumble it, add it to deliciousso you can help others find the scholarship help that they need and can get from Scholarshipsupport.com.

Feel good about finding scholarships

Finding scholarships is like doing a crossword or a word search. It’s right there in front of you and the more you attempt it the closer you come to getting it. You may have a 800 page scholarship book that you bought, but the trouble is your overwhemled. The longest book you have read may be a quarter of that length. So you quickly become discouraged. Instead of going through the book page by page, you skim and skip around. And that scho larship that is meant for you becomes overlooked. So take your time and make time to read over a specific number of pages a few times a night so that it doesn’t overwhelm you. I taught a class the other day and I really stressed the importance of taking your time to read, that way you actually find what your supposed to.

For me it honestly feels good to help people. It feels fantastic to help people find scholarships especially with the cost of tuition being so high. I think it’s ironic how people are complaining about how high the cost of college is because I have always thought college was outragously expensive. I was going to go to school for a few computer certifications before I got my scholarship and that tuition was $10,000 for the whole program and I thought that was expensive. But in closing make sure you pay attention to the descriptions of scholarships and don’t just skim over them. Especially if it’s an email from fastweb. It may be something that is very reasonable for you to do like write an essay about how tough it is to find financial aid. Also with scholarships don’t assume that there is 1 grand prize winner. A lot of times there are more than one scholarship given out in various amounts. Good Luck!

Wrong Actions= No Scholarship

Other reasons people can’t find scholarships

Last night I received and replied to an email from someone in need of financial aid. They told me that they agreed with one of my recent post. Then they went on to say that “wrong actions=no scholarship” & that they have tried all the suggestions and scholarship finding tips and still no luck.

Help finding scholarships

I also recently wrote a post about innaccurate scholarship information. But what about people that provide the information. You may have been to numerous scholarship websites and asked questions and received no answer or acknowledgement. That can be discouraging. This is where ill bring up my personal experiences Now this week I have been trying to tell the principal I can’t teach my math intervention class because today I leave at 2. I have told him monday he said tell him wednesday then he disappeared and I got the run around. Today I see him “hi how are you…are you busy? I say, he says “yep” and walks right by me into my classroom. He later apologized but still no way to treat someone. Then I didn’t know I had cafeteria duty and the secretary that informed me was extremely rude. My point being some people that have the knowledge don’t know how to treat people who need their help. I do and that’s why I gave my word to personally help anyone who is having a hard time finding financial aid.

keep trying to find scholarships

The message I want to leave you with is to keep trying to find scholarships. Was I upset at the principal? Absolutely I would have love to say I have my own business scholarshipsupport.com but I don’t treat people like im better than them. I didn’t give up because I have a scholarship and if I give up ill lose it. Its just another one of those sacrifice I was talking about. There are 2 staff members who I shared the same conversation with on separate occassions. It was about how sometimes you say hi to other teachers and they don’t say hi. I guess its not a racial thing because one teacher was african american and the other was caucasion, both were female. So I told them listen if you do your part and I do my part that’s 2 staff members who aren’t being rude in this building. With that being said if you do your part register with and follow up check your emails right essays enter contest…

3 Things you must do to find a scholarship

1) Find Free College Money!

2) CollegeWeekLive.com

3) ScholarshipExperts.com

Just remember that even if you have contacted someone who is supposed to help you find a scholarship and you still don’t find one. Maybe you are just talking with the wrong person, and you need not stop until you find that help you need to find a scholarship. Maybe your doing everything right but your just dealing with very rude people. This can be frustrating as you can see from my personal experiences.

So if you have done your part then I will…Then I will proof read and give suggestions on essays, read and reply to your emails and help you find financial aid and scholarships. That sounds like support and that’s what scholarship support is about .
