Get Scholarships with Bad Grades!!
Academics, Scholarships and Grants
Find Free College Money!
Look for scholarships and grants- Academics not great? You can still get scholarships with bad grades.
Scholarships and grants can sometimes be dependent on a high gpa and good sat and act test scores. A good amount of the time these awards do not factor these scores in but rather your need for financial aid. If you have been following the recent post you have learned about a Pell Grant which is an example of a grant that one can receive regardless of your gpa and test scores. And a pell grant ranges between approximately $2,000 and $5,000 per academic year.
Financial Need Based Scholarships and Grants
The scholarships that exist that are given to students who show financial need are classified as need based scholarships. The catch is that if you don’t show any financial need you may not be eligible to apply or receive one. However there are simple ways around this obstacle. For example there may be scholarships available for students from urban areas you may not be but if you have a relative you may consider using their address. And talking about “beating the system” this my friends is the most popular way to ensure that you qualify for a Pell Grant!
Qualifying for a Pell Grant
This is one form of financial aid that I think holds a lot of weight on your financial need. If you live in an urban area, live with a single parent, are a single parent or have a deceased parent then you are more likely going to qualify to receive a Pell Grant. Now I’m not saying that the above are the specific criteria or scenarios that you need to meet to qualify but I am saying that the students that I know that received a Pell Grant were students who were facing these situations. The good news is that the Pell Grant is award to students based on a financial equation that is really unknown its almost like a credit score. They ask you things on your FAFSA about your finances ie: do you own a car, how much money you expect to make or your family expects to make, does anyone claim you on their taxes etc. Somehow these questions are put into an equation which somehow determines your financial need for money for college. As a result to this you can receive a Pell Grant. Which is free money for you, you can do whatever you want with it and you don’t have to pay it back!
Other examples of ways that people have beat the system include:
I’m sure there are other ways that people have managed to beat the system to qualify for free federal grants for college. But what I have listed in this post is what “they” don’t want me to talk about. Below I have listed some scholarships opportunities that hold very little weight on your GPA. Also a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5 is not bad at all. A 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale is a C average.

CVS Caremark has a long tradition of supporting the academic aspirations of young scholars. One of the ways we achieve this is by offering children of full-time employees the opportunity to apply for a CVS Caremark Corporate Scholarship, funded by the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust. The future success of our company, the health of our community, and the overall prosperity of our economy relies heavily on our educational system and its accessibility to students.
We are proud that this program has helped hundreds of students achieve their goal of furthering their education. An independent review committee made up of higher education and financial aid professionals will select scholarship winners. The review committee will consider a number of factors when determining scholarships awards, including:
Scholarship winners are announced in July, following a mid-May deadline. Full-time employees who have been hired by the application deadline (which changes each year) and have children who are seniors in high school or are attending a college or university may request a scholarship application.
