Scholarship and Grants for School
Every year you have the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Last year they may have given out 50 scholarships
and you were #51. But you dont get discouraged. You find resources, you read about scholarships you apply for additional scholarships. Maybe you haven’t
applied for a Pell Grant, maybe you never heard about FAFSA. Don’t know the difference between a scholarship and a grant?
Scholarships and grants are sources of finacial aid that are awarded for college students.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are grants that are available
for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need, or families with
the lowest Expected Family Contribution. Students who receive Pell Grants have priority for
these FSEOG grants! The value ranges from $100 - $4,000 dollars a year.
However there is no gaurantee for FSEOG grants
Grant Award Amounts
The amount is dependent on the following:
Academic Competitiveness Grant
The next grant I will discuss is the Academic Competitiveness Grant or ACG.
The Academic Competitiveness Grant is awarded to undergraduates who receive federal Pell Grants
and are U.S citizens. Requirements included being enrolled in atleast a two year academic program offering credits for a bachelors degree or a graduate degree program that includes three academic years of undergraduate education.
National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant
Last on this list is the National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant
(National Smart Grant). This grant is for undergraduate students who are enrolled
in their 3rd or 4th academic year, receive Pell Grants and are U.S citizens. They must be enrolled in an eligible program that can lead to a bachelors degree in an eligible major or a graduate degree program. The award ranges up to $4,000 dollars for each year.
This however is GPA dependent you must have atleast a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

You will receive refund credits for these amounts to your schools account You can be paid directly by check You can combine these funds You are paid once per term You can receive grants if you are a part time student
